Hotdogs normally flow from small to big, not stepup like normal muffler.
Such as

the looks like a muffler, not a hot dog, but i could b wrong.
i know they have them at daalder exhuasts in box hill(98904444), not that exact one, but one that will suit.
if you want the exact same one, let them know and they will get it for you. they have a book with all exhuast for all cars so they will find it easily.
we where looking up a ea falcon muffler a few weeks back. FORD WANTED $550!!!!!!! for a stock muffler and shitty pipe to a flange!! so be aware it may be expensive.

Yeah, I don't need those exact mufflers, but something with about 2.5" in/out, and about 4" diameter.
Those ones in the pic up top, are genuine FPV I think, so I'd hate to think what they cost.
Especially since I have to buy 4 of the buggers.

I'll give ebay a gander, but if its like all the other mufflers on there, I wouldn't even use them if they were given to me.
The price of $80 suggests to me its crap quality with a crap sound.

4 of them on a 4cyl would probably be quiet.
4 of them on a 400+hp V8 is not going to be all that quiet.
Hence I need something of a good build quality.

Thats my last resort.
I'd prefer a straight through muffler, but if I can't get them, or can't justify the cost, then Lukey oval ones are what I'll use.

note: lukey mufflers, whilst excellent in sound muffling qualities, make a bit of a raspy sound, rather than a smoothe lovely horn sound...
and lukey = dynomax

I've heard of a type of muffler called 'Gonzos' or similar (I think blake may have them...).
They have a spiral design...

Yes, I know this, you can hear it on some of my old videos.
I'm hoping this raspyness will reduce with a set of decent cams.

Unless you have a turbo or two in the way, helps with the sound a lot.

Clint told me about Finnex today.
I'm going to see my exhaust shop on Saturday morn, see what they have.
I'll try Finn-ex after that.
Do they sell to the public?
Do they have a showroom?

Anyone know why this thread is listed twice? Not just a double-post, but an actual duplicate of the entire thread. Weird.

Nope, Finn-ex wont sell to the public, they dont have a showroom as such, and wont build a system while you wait. That said, they're really cheap and I've seen a fair few systems from them, and all seem up to scratch.
