Adsports Auntie took it to Warwick cause she knows them all down there. Didnt say anything about O/D Off light flashing. Said it had an oil leak, rear shelf holes need to be filled, and the hole in the front dash. There was also a small oil leak but was still passed.

John got angry about the Speakers senario "Why would i go out and put a new stereo and speakers in if it hasnt passed pits yet ?" Laughing

HOORAAHHHH!!!! at last the mission is over !

Finally over the pits & rego'ed in my name.

The gent that sold it to me in SA said he had sent the rego papers "last wednesday 5/10/05" and then the date now is the 14/10/05 and i havent seen anything.

Tryed getting him to fax a simple letter stating that he had sold me the car for $4.8k and that he wants it to be put into my name. he said no worries it will be faxed last night (13/10/05) nothing happened

so i spoke to a few people and they suggested that i goto the DPI (licence center) and speak to someone.
so i did

gave him all my receipts from Autotrans/St George Bank/The Pits

had to sign a Stat Dec and now i have a 1986 ! Toyota Soarer in my name :)Smile

Get a compression and leak down test done, at least that will tell you something as to whether the 1G is dead or not.

is it just me, or did you not mention at all why you need a new gearbox?

and damn, Chris's rims do look nice Shocked

in japan rear seatbelts are not needed by law, hence the manufacturer cuts cost by notputting them in.

this is why, during the compliancing process, when a car is brought in, seat belts must be installed in order for the vehicle to pass a pits inspection.

your car is obviously a jap import, so it wouldnt have seatbelts unless they were installed by a compliance workshop.

Eldar.O.

That entire statement is WRONG.

All soarers come with seatbelts for 5 seats.

In the rear they have 3 lap sash belts which in Australia are illegal and must be replaced by retractable belts.

As this car wasn't designed for retractable belts, it makes it very hard to install them. The other option is to not install them and engineer the vehicle as a 2 seater, which is also cheaper to comply in such a fashion.

i stand corrected, ive seen many a car come with no seat rear belts at all, i thought this was one of those cases...

plus, why would you want one of those stupid lap sash crap seat belts in there anyway?

they remind me of my ta22.... good times Razz
