spedo stuck??? Wed, 12 October 2005 09:48 Go to next message
recently in the morning i got in my car, started driving and noticed the spedo was stuck on roughly 19km/h Confused

this afternoon i pulled my dash out. when i tried to move the spedo needle with my finger it was very stiff and stayed where ever i pushed it...

i pulled out the spedo cable and the needle fell straight to 0km/h. with the cable out the needle was springy just like the tacho which is good right?

i put the spedo cable back in (partly) took it for a drive and it worked fine but when i push the cable all the way in untill it clicks into place the needle goes stiff again and wont work Crying or Very Sad

any advice would apprieciated Razz

will post pics of cable and dash shortly

What car have you got? If it's something common, might be cheaper to just grab another IC from a wrecker. Carefully pull the IC apart and have a go at fixing it, if you mess it up, then get another IC.
