I'd propose that it is, whether you choose to participate or not, Steve will still be here, and doing what the rest of you simply talk about.

guilty_19, if you're planning on going out to the stages, could I possibly hit you up for a ride as I won't have any wheels.
Send me a pm with your number & I'll call you.
BTW, my brother can't make it now due to other commitments
Cheers Clint, I think it was just a sly dig back at a mod (we try not to let the opportunities happen too often ), but we've got thick skin.
I'm going back to my room to have a cry now

ok peeps, looks like its only me coming & I'm seriously considering just flying over & back to shorten the hol.
I will definitely need someone for a ride out to the rally.
Please email me, I don't get reply notifications from this forum for some reason.
Also, any info about getting tickets would be appreciated.
Cheers
Steve

Buy me a ticket for the rally too, and I'll drive you where ever you want to go?! On a side note, I live about 2 minutes from Glouster Park (where they have the super special now), and yes you can also climb the hill behind it to watch the action for free - distance away from the track is the only downside. I'd suggest if the setup is anything like Langley Park where it used to be, you'll need at least grandstand seats to see anything, if you choose to go there.

my passenger seat is taken unfortunetly .......unless you want to sacrifise kids for the next year or two and cram in the back
i think that we should all meet at a general place........say Carousel shopping centre carpark....once everyone is there......then we can cruise to say maybe 4 or 5 stages in the forrest and for those who want to come back to the city and watch the super special stages
any thoughts??..... interest??

Careful there..
Now back on topic.
Anyone else going that's got a spare seat?
How difficult is it to get tickets there, or am I better off getting them beforehand?

I'm guessing you've never seen a pic of me then. I'm only 5'5" tall.
I've sat in the back of an extremely quick MA61 before & unless you're 7' tall, I'll prolly still fit ok.
Besides, if no one else is in the back, I could sit with my legs across the seat (done that in the back seat of a TA22 before)

That'd be excellant.
Does anyone have any ideas about getting tickets while there? Or is it better to buy them beforehand?
Send me an email, I'm not sure how much longer this forum is going to remain unlocked.

The West Australian. CAMS are simply holding the state government to the contract. And yeh the Government are hoping to retain Telstra as the major sponsor.
A new venue in Queensland is in the pipeline for 2006.

Andrew is right...
apprently the prick in labour (woot go labour) got the flick who was heading up the cancelling of rally aus...now the government doesnt want it gone...but FIA are saying fuck off, u screwed us round...so its probably going to the other FIA rally (asia pacific round) in canberra...
but cant be organised in time so we have another year left.

Nope, Canberra won't be getting it.
They've got a long term contract (just resigned) for the Asia Pacific round, so they can't drop that.
Rumours are on Qld.
With another year now to sort it out, someone should be able to take it.
oh BTW, I'll be there in less than 24hours

We've got grandstand ticket for Gloucester Park tonight. I figured at least every car will be racing tonight whereas they mightn't be the other nights.
Friday night is open cause Clint's boss is going to the rally, so Clint is on call. I'm open to suggestions for something to do.
I'll be needing a lift out the rally stages on Sunday, cause Clint wants to play baseball. Anyone got room?
Cheers
Steve

Well, Clint & I have just decided to go to the forest stages in the morning.
After being there tonight in a grandstand, you're going to see SFA from a general admission ticket. The fence around the track is too high.
But like I said, I may be keen to do something else.

Am definitely interested in the forest stage on Saturday. I'll talk to Clint later in the day about that. No plans for tonight yet, so I'm interested if something is happening.

BTW since you guys can't seem to make your minds up..... & I'm leaving Friday arvo, we're organising a pub night out Thursday night.
If you don't want a big one, that's ok, just come down to say g'day & have only a couple.
Seeing as I'm staying in Lathlain, it'll probably be nearby to here, but I'll post up to say where later when I get that sorted.
