Not really a fan of them myself but another thing that concerns me is they're really isn't a lot holding the centre part of the rim to the outer part. Only the tiny bit at the tip of the petals.
Ie would something like what happened to John's AE86 at driftland occur quite easily with the rim (all spokes split from outer rim)

the spoke part and the rim are two pieces. they are bolted together from behind using quite a few bolts
|
