just outa curiosity would anyone have a genrell idea of how much it would cost to rebuild a 2t-geu (not incuding labour) also what do you guys think would be a good price for a 2t-geu in need of rebuild. By the way not sure how much it effects beside cost of 3t crank but i'm gonna do a 2litre
2t/3t-geu hybrid. any help would be good.
Thanks, Brad

A Durapro 2T gasket set is $125, probably a slight more for the 2T-G (more gaskets in the head).
I dunno about piston rings/big end bearings and timing belts, but that'll most likely add up to another $150 or so. Then you'd possibly want to replace head bolts, and you might be able to find an aftermarket replacement set for about $50, and do a valve grind and face the cylinder head to get it flat, probably $200 from any decent engine reconditioner for those jobs. So probably about $500 or $550 or so for all of that.
Main crankshaft bearing, no idea about the cost for that, but that'd definitely need replacing.
Honing the cylinder bores, no idea about the cost for that either
I think it also depends how good a job you want done I can only give you an estimate, try ringing up some replacement parts places like Repco or even Sprint Auto or whateva you like.

THis is off the top of my head:
89mm pistons, new forged $1200
3T crank and block $100 at wreckers
new chain/ sprocket kit $200
new top chain $30
bottom end bearings $100
head plane, valve regrind $140
2T head gaskit $40
Can use old head bolts, can use 2T HG. Can use silicon on the timing cover and sump. ALso get new front and rear seals, even if they look good. $5 each? New exhaust gasket, $15. Intake gasket can be home made from cardbourd, and Permatex No.4 if you like. A lightened flywheel, and ballanced, is a good idear.
Also, maybe new dummy cam bearings, not realy needed.
Also, getting the block bored to 89mm, $200.
= $2035.
Personaly, I am going for 86mm 3T pistons $150. Getting the block bored to 86mm was more like $100.
