Hey there,
For all you peeps that have a 4AGTE...what headgaskets are you using??
I'm about to bolt a bigport 4AGE head onto a GZE bottom end and am not sure what head gasket to use.
I was thinking of simply using a factory GZE headgasket...but thought i'd get some of your opinions.
Also...what turbo are you using?
Thanks,
Joel

My stock ~15 year old HG is holding up to 20psi fine and has been for a number of years now.
Another recently rebuilt 4AGTE was fitted with a stock Toyota HG and its holding up to 25psi fine.
My turbo = Garrett T28
My mates turbo = custom, of unknown origin

I am using a Standard Toyota 4AGE HG, and will have an O'Ringed block also.
The genuine gaskets look to be very good.
Garrett GT28RS.

your going to use a standard gasket with an oringed block?total waste of time.one you really need a copper head gasket with the orings and two you need a reciever cut into the head to do it properly.
just use a 7a head gasket as they are metal shim and will do you to about 20psi happly.i oring and reciever mine and use copper gasket for high boost but unless you going to play over 25psi dont bother.

I used genuine toyota head gasket also, never had an issue with head sealing running 20psi, originally with T04/CT26, then garrett T28, then GT2535.
Seems to be that they are one tough critter

Cheers for your replies.
I'm going to be putting new rings and bearing in my GZE block and running a T25 or similar turbo at like 14psi...so I think i'll just stick with a genuine Toy hg.
Thanks,
Joel
