Hey guys,
Ive got a 1Jz going into my hilux, its sitting in there.. its a soarer motor, with a chaser trans, which has caused a few issues.
im running the stock ECU and loom, but need a slipper yoke output on the box (which the chaser one has)
- the Chaser trans has different sensors/plugs in it, can i just bolt on the soarer items to make it plug in?
- the chaser trans have slipper yoke outputs, which is great, i believe soarer ones have a fixed output? (the v8 ones do) can this be changed?
- am i better off to get a whole good soarer trans and change the output? or just change the sensors over onto the chaser box?
how many other variants are there of this?

you have to change the rear sensor on the gbox
not the one fo rthe speedo but the one for th egbox
u also have to remove back cover off the gobx and there is a ring with 32 teeth u need to cut of some teeth so u only have 4 left all equal distance
i have a device that might be able to convert the crown sensor to suit the soarer ecu but it will cost about 400 in parts and labour
and i havnt tested it on another car yet so not sure if it will work
but the device does divide tghe signal from 32 to 4 teeth then also changes it from digital to analog which is what the soarer needs

Another option.
SP2 on the crown box is a different signal to the soarer box.
This is to get a soarer sensor fitted to a crown box.
Crown sensor fitted
Soarer sensor doesn't fit
Adaptor I designed
Adaptor fitted
Soarer sensor fitted to Crown box
The only bit I haven't showed is the Crown's 32tooth chopper wheel has been cut down to 4 teeth (ie, I ground 28 teeth off with the dremel)

oops i was thinkin of 1uz
the chaser gbox has digital sensor with 32 teeth
u need to convert that to analog signal with 4 teeth
my device should work but i havnt tried it physically
on the bench the device works
you should be able to run this without touchin any of the sensors on th egbox
just need to run power and earth to sensor
then power my device up and there is a signal in and out

Some of the Toyotas actually have 4 tooth chopper wheels so you don't even have to get creative with the Dremel. Chopper wheel clips into place just like in the thread I started that ZZT231 highlighted.
Pretty much swap sensors over. Job done. Looks factory too.

yes but it means pullin box apart
soarers have 4 teeth gears
and 2 wire sensors
chasers and crowns have 32 teeth and 3 wire sensors
chasers and crowns have the signal from the back of the gbox run thru the abs ecu then gets modified then goes to the auto or engine ecu
so in the end its gets complicated if u use a chaser ecu
if its easy to get rear off the gbox then its easier to do that
but u need to find someone with spares from a soarer gbox
i can get a gbox if you want one for 50 bucks
