Hey guys, My sis just got her p"s (No pics:P) and im already looking around for a car, I think this model Celica would be good, (ST162??) Anyways, how do you tell, what has 3SGE, and 3SFE?? Id def rather the GE. I can imagine these are reliable, economical, but would insurance be a killer?

it should say on the cam covers, 3sge or 3sfe, the t-vis on the throttle body is usually a dead give away that its a 3sge, if it has efi then 3sfe.

sorry also, if its a SX it should have a 3sge, and if its a ST, it will have a 3sfe, unless engine conversion.

I think he meant it says "TVIS" on the 3SGE TB and "EFI" on the 3SFE TB...

correct me if i'm wrong

but wasnt the 3s-fe more "economical" orientated while the 3s-ge was more for the little bit of extra power?

things to watch out for in our celicas:
*oil leaks from power stearing motor??
*if its a manual the syncro's in second and sometimes fourth break/wear easliy leaving you with a nice CHRUNCH! everytime you change gears
*big end bearing tends to stuff up alot (assuming its a gen1 engine)

i think theres more. but insurance wise it wont kill you, someplaces might make you pay a little bit more because its a 2 door sports coupe.

there are great cars though
