Hehey, that's some tidy camera work, thnks for that mate!

As everyone can see I managed a 12.6, which knocks a good 0.77sec off my best 1/4 mile time, which I'm very pleased about.
I got my new volvo diff in last week, and it had better not give me any trouble for a long time (Razz just wait till you hear about the 3rd gear burnouts & 6grand+ launches!Evil or Very Mad) as it consists of new seals, new bearings, new truetrac LSD, New discs, new pads, new shoes, new caliper seals, new tailshaft (incl. new unis & new g'box yoke), new nolethane lower trailing arm bushes, new noltec adj. upper trailing arms, and rolled guards due to its 20mm extra overall width.

I don't suppose anyone could lend me some money? Rolling Eyes

So anyway, I borrowed a pair of dot rated circuit racing slicks from what was a good mate & is now a great mate, and had a bit of fun learning the intricacy of different pressures & the heating & launching slicks. As they were for circuit & had a max press. of 44psi I started at 30 but wheelspun through 2nd, & ended up with them at 20 where they would bog down with anything less that 5500rpm.
I started doing burnouts in 2nd gear & ended up trying a few in 3rd but I think I'll stick to 2nd next time & just hold the brakes a bit longer, I just know my car didn't enjoy the 3rd gear ones, whereas it LOVED the 2nds! Smile

I'd like to get out there again within the next month or so, it'd be good to get a bunch of 4AGTEs out there together. But enough of the essay, sleep necessary.

Nice work BW Wink

Chuck up the rest of the details on your time card when you get a chance and some details of other runs you did and your own evaluation of them.

Again, well done.

Top work! Bet you're happy with the investment on the LSD.

So what are the planned mods to push that down to an 11 ? Very Happy

Cheers

There are a couple of guys who take photos at WSID and sell them on their website. They are usually up a few days after the event.

Do a google and you should be able to find them, the links have been posted on this site several times too. Search and you will find.

Thanks for all the kind works! Smile

This is one of the better pics from the night:

http://www.badgerphotography.com.au/191005/DSC_0657.JPG

The full details of my best 2 runs are as follows:

R/T:::: 0.148-------0.462

60':::: 1.931-------2.076

330'::: 5.313------5.435

660'::: 8.139------8.250

mph::: 87.65------88.36

1000': 10.553-----10.646

ET::::: 12.627----12.702

MPH::: 108.70-----109.71

k/mh:: 174.94-----176.56

I had another run of 12.8 but the timeslip machine (or more likely people) fucked up & lost it. As it was my first 12 second run I was pretty pissed off, until I ran the 12.6 of course. Smile I also did 2 low 13 sec passes as I perfected my launch technique, which whenever I got totally wrong I'd also manage to miss 2nd gear which accounted for two 13.8s.

My 60' times could do with a little work, but I'm happy considering I had circuit slicks & it was my first time launching with sticky rubber. I should get back there in full street trim & see what she does then....

Next on the mods list is to finally fix my leaking headgasket (compression's good, just a little oil in the water)and then seeing as I have to take the cams out to get to the head bolts it'd be silly to chuck the stockers back in. Rolling Eyes And then who has cams without a little headwork?!? Evil or Very Mad I've aldso started looking into 20v T/Bs.....
Oh and Phil, I've been eying your GT2540 for a while, but managed to talk myself out of it for the time being. Is it still looking for a good home?

go the volvo diff!

Hey Stew, yeah the ovlov diff rocks, & it sure copped a punishment that night. Thanks for the advice!
Hey what ratio are you running? I originally had a 3.7 but tracked down a 3.9 only to find the R&P wouldn't fit the 3.7 housing & the LSD wouldn't fit the 3.9 gear & housing. So I got stuck with 3.7.

Did you remove some "ballast" for the runs last Wednesday?

Let us know when you plan to go again, I would be keen to attend with some other 4AGTE powered cars and have some runs.

It looks like we would be a pretty close match in times and mph, would make for some close runs Wink

Off to go tyre shopping................

hey mate,

i have 3.9's

there are 2 different hemipheres and they are not interchangeable. one from 3.7 and taller, and one from 3.7 and shorter. yep there are 2 different 3.7's. within the same hemisphere range all the centres are interchangeable.

it only makes bout a 6% difference (i think) per ratio.... so just run smaller profile tyres!
