NEED HELP - ENGINE OIL LEAK IN MY SOARER Thu, 20 October 2005 06:53 Go to next message
Hi all,

does anyone know a good mechanic in Sydney where I can take my Soarer .

I have an engine oil leak....i took my car to local mechanic and he said that it could be anything....whcih would eventually cost fortune.

So....anyone knows a mechanic to use dyno and detect the leak and fix it .... in Sydney .... or even mechanic that possibly knows Soarers inside out????????

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

yeah, should be able to find the leak urself then get a quote on fixing it.
personally id be hitting it with degreaser.. anywhere with oil that is, going for a short drive and seeing if u can see where its coming from.

i think he means it leaks more obviously when the engine is running, and a stationary running engine could help find the leak easier....

however it is an expensive way of doing things when any mechanic worth a damn should be able to track down any leak with it up on a hoist... Wink

err how many mechanics are going to get under the car when its on a dyno?

Whats wrong with what was mentioned above, degreaser, clean off all oil, take it for a spin then pop it on a hoist.
