Mating 1G-Gte - AE 86 axle

I'm considering mating my 1g-gte with an AE 86 axle..but might have to change the ratios etc...am i wasting my time ?
Chassis is a GX60.

Depends on how you want to drive it! If you want to beat up on it, go for a larger diff - F series would be a good starting point, if you simply want a daily driver with a bit more pep, the T series AE86 axle should be fine. Standard I think you'll find your CRessida will have an E series diff, so the T series diff will actually be reducing the size of the diff too - something to think about.

Hi CLG...thanks mate..here's the problem..my car's sitting with the mech for 5 months now..cause unable to get a suitable disc'd axle here in malaysia other then the Ae86..i know about the size reduction.It concerns me. The track is about the same size.
What F series axle could i use ?

Why not use a G from an old-school Hilux and be done with it? You'll be able to slot in a passable LSD, some sensible gears and it should be strong enough. Plus it'll be the right width.

If size and weight are not an issue, thats an option too, but you'll also need to do a disc brake conversion if you want discs!

In malaysia there were some MS112 crowns..hmm..suppose it be like looking for a needle in a haystack..the track width would be same almost i think...Mr.Shin would you know the chassis code for the Hilux you're reffering too ? Malaysia is Hilux-heaven..

CLG ...the AE 86 in hand is the LSD version with disc brakes.
Mr Shin..does the hilux you're reffering to come with disc brakes..
if not how do i convert it to disc ?
