Ask for a 4AGZE
If the importer doesnt know what a big port is then perhaps you should go to another one...
Seriously if you are looking to convert a sprinter I would reccomend either a 4AGZE or a 20v. An 86kw bigport (unless modified) can be a little dissapointing and the cost of conversion is about the same no matter what engine you use (A RWD bigport will be slightly easier, but in the long run it won't make much difference).

just ask for an 'early model 4age' or 'bluetop' or TVIS version or even 86kw
good luck!

DONT get a bigport engine for him if this is the plan. The GZE pistons WONT fit on the rods. He needs a later model 4age with the larger crank journels and pins.
He probably meant the Bigport HEAD is better in turbo applications. The bottom end is useless to him.

20 psi on a 4agte is reasonable. That's the max boost i intend to put out in the end. The NOS shots i'm not too keen on though... For drifting though, 20psi would be pretty stupid. 8-12psi should be plently and give a far wider powerband to work with.
The budget will be the main determining factor as to how to go about building an engine like this. My engine owes me about 3.5k or so... i don't even bother counting the costs anymore That doesn't include the bolt on stuff like the turbo/mani either.
Just get a GZE to start with... probably less hassle in the end.
Eddie.

My suggestion is dont buy anything cause its a lot of money
down the drain if you dont get the one he need's. I'm not trying to offend and if i had a chick who wanted to buy me a new heart i would not complain but there is to many variants, and it sound's like to me he wants to mix n match big port head with a 7 ribbed block with forged internals?
a lot of money to go on the wrong thing.
