1GGTE would be the plum choice. Please do a search when you look through Toymods - this conversion has actually been discussed about 11ty billion times. Type "RA65" and "1GGTE" into the SEARCH function - it might even work.

I see you just couldn't be bothered making the effort. No doubt you'd prefer to be spoon-fed. Rolling Eyes

If you can't even do some basic research, what makes you think you'll be able to pull off a major project like an engine conversion?

well actully i did look, im just trying to find if there r any other engines that r actully good N/A engines as GTSBoy said that the 1g-gteu is a shit house non turbo engine, so what is the point of me finding out all that i did about that engine/conversion when i dont realy want to put that engine in my car as its twin turbo thats 2 x the problem, i would realy like N/A, so again any one no of a good N/A engine 4 the 85 celica?

Well, you have an NA 2.4L in there.

So if you want to get more torque, you'll be looking at 2.5L+

However, any of the cast iron 6's will be to heavy to put in that car, so that rules out 5MGE, 6MGE, 7MGE, 1JZGE, 2JZGE etc.

Easiest >2.4L would be the 1UZ 4.0L V8.

By no means bolt in, but definately fun.

Other options would be to convert a camry v6 (all alloy ones) to RWD and use that.
Don't expect much change from a hefty sum of money though.

why not do some mild mods to the 22re?

extractors, exhaust, CAI and a cam would be a good start.

From their u could get a lightened fly wheel, shaved ported head, high comp pistons.....

of course after all that u may as well have bought a 1ggte and droped that in
