4AGZE into Subaru Brumby Tue, 25 October 2005 02:56 Go to next message
Anyone heard of this conversion before? I've got a Brumby with a blown EA81, and a rusty Corolla with a GZE etc. If it sounds like it wouldn't be too much trouble I'd like to swap the GZE into the Brumby, and I think it would make a nice sleeper.

I originally bought the Brumby with the intention of an EJ20T conversion, but I think the GZE would be something very different. I know I'd need a bit (a lot?) of custom stuff done to mount the engine/box, but would it be that hard? I'd do what I can myself, but would take the car to a mechanic for the most part of the work.

cheers

the EJ is a boxer engine and the brumby ran similar configuration of engine? if so then you might find height from cross-member to bonnet an issue?

a 4agze would be a much taller power plant compared to the mighty EJ-T?

there'a s lot of fabrication involved from front of the engine right back the rear cross-member mount and gear-stick hole.

Remember all of the boxer engine is mounted foward of the front axle. Id say the 4AGZE would be too long it will be sticking out of the grill.

They are exactly the same as the Sports Wagons, all AWD.
