Perhaps the most prestigious production car performance record was broken in September by Michael Vergers in a Radical SR8 - and you can watch him do it!
Vergers lapped one of the worlds most difficult circuits, the Nurburgring Nordschleife, in 6 minutes 55 seconds, 20 seconds faster than the previous production car record set by a Porsche 996 GT2.
The 13 mile-long Nordschleife has 73 corners (many of them blind) and numerous abrupt elevation changes. No less a driver than Sir Jackie Stewart described the circuit as the ultimate driver challenge.

Im sorry but i dont count that as a production car. Thats rediculous. Looks like an open wheeler with a monaco gt style body.
Yeh they might qualify as production cars because some small company handbuilds 20 a year but seriously...
they should create some other catagory for cars such as this like minormass production.
its just unfair when comparing to genuine production cars. Its like saying, phwaor that bmw m3 and evo have good times on the course what a competition!. Oh well thats nothing my "insert 'production' unknown openwheeler* does it in this time"
Love to see the vid tho

The Radical range is a full production road legal car in the UK. The base engine is a Suzuki Hayabusa 1300cc engine and they also do a 1500cc version and 1500cc turbo. The SR8 has a new engine they developped themselves which is basically 2 Hayabusa engines turned into a V8, about 2600cc and a redline of 12,000RPM!!! There is a Radical Australia but unfortunately they are not road legal.
I am fortunate enough to have experienced one of their cars on the race circuit (the SR3 2 seat version) and even with road tyres and 2 people on board it will pull 2g in the corners and destroy machinary worth many times more!
