1997 starlet (steering wheel / horn) Sun, 12 January 2003 09:08 Go to next message
ok my girlfriend has one of these and the horn is stuffing up

I havent had the TIIIIME to pull it off and chck it, but I am guessing the wires have become disconnected or somehitng ot that effect.

without any tools, i couldn't take the bloody steering off to check ! (how embarassing)

I felt around and found 4 small screw holes..

CAN someone tell me if I need to undo those screws to get the steering wheel off to check why the horn is not working ?

(not as simple as it seems hahahahah Laughing )

Does it have an airbag?
If so, BIG job.
If not, all you have to do is prise the horn pad off & there should be a big nut behind it holding the wheel onto the steering shaft.
Undo this & pull the wheel off (you may need a steering wheel puller, <$10 from Supercheap)
