Yep thats it, discovered them in the JGTC. As bizarre as they look I like them... and they are made by not a major car company but Autobacs apparantly.

Powered by a 2.0 litre NA nissan built engine
"With that high-compression, 2.0L naturally aspirated powerplant producing 204 horsepower @ 7,200 rpm and 206 lb-ft torque @ 5,200 rpm we have what looks to be a match made in heaven. The go-kart like, rear-drive Garaiya is mated to a close-ration six-speed transmission and rolls on 17-inch wheels"

Hmmm interesting the SR20DE was discountinued a few years back because it didn't meet jap emmissions so it couldn't be that could it. What 2.0L motor have those japs got that we are missing out on or is it a renault sourced engine ie the one in the clio sport.

Interesting interesting:
"Powered by a mid-mounted Nissan 2.0-liter four (remember the fast-revving engine in the Sentra SE-R?), the Garaiya is plenty quick, dispatching the quarter-mile, the PR lady swears, in 14 seconds flat."
"The Garaiya RS-01, made by ASL, is a 200-hp, 1750-pound road rocket. ASL is an independent builder with limited resources. They put Toyota drivetrains into their cars, just as Panoz in Georgia and (formerly) De Tomaso in Italy both put Ford machinery in their sports cars. The Garaiya RS-01 is tiny and woefully underdeveloped, with rattles and shakes, but would still be a hoot at speeds under 120 mph. It’d probably cost over $50,000 in the US."
"Code SR20VE
Manufacturer Nissan
Type S-4
DOHC
16 valves total
4 valves per cylinder"
"0-100km/h 5.20s
Quarter-mile 13.70s
Top speed 220 km/h "
