Hard Drive boggle Sat, 05 November 2005 03:01 Go to next message
Hi
I am ressurecting my mums old PC that has a dead hard drive.

Its a P3 733Mhz IBM computer

I want an internal hard disk for it. I went to ebay but there are hundreds to choose from and now im confused on which one to get.

The PC will only be used for web surfing and TAFE work (MS office)

Please direct me to a reliable brand and possibly a model number. Also maybe an ebay keyword to search on Confused Confused

Thanks guys!!

Just get a 3.5" IDE HDD
Grab a 120Gb or smaller as older motherboards tend to have issues with drives larger than 137Gb (i.e. 160Gb+)

the computer wouldnt be a IBM aptiva would it? sounds exactly like mine Smile

Grab an 80GB 8MB cache drive.

they can be had for $70 odd dollars
and have plenty of speed and storage
10GB drives arent avaliable anymore because they're shit.
