weird blinker problem Sun, 06 November 2005 02:14 Go to next message
hey guys... my blinkers hvae started doing some weird shit... (strangly after i got it from the auto electricians...) when you select either left or right, you get one blink, then nothing (on, off, then stuck on)... i pulled the relay apart, nothing obvious there, didn't clean the contacts though.. bit slack.

2 questions

is this a relay problem, and if so, can i use a generic relay 'cause i can't find a genuine relay from the wreckers...

okay... weird blinker problem is fixed... and the solution is even weirder... wondering if anyone could explain it...

in the relay (blinker unit) there's two individual relays, it appears one opens the circuit, while the other (coupled with a capicator) blinks the blinkers... the problem appears to be in the first of the two the one that opens the circuit... it's hard to explain what it was doing, but when i held the contacts apart, the other relay worked as you'd want it too.. my confusion stems from the fact that in order to make it work properly, i've had to stop it from doing what it should!

capiché?
