hi everyone
i own a AE92 seca ultima. i love it to bits n i wish it had a 4A-GE in it, but thats just not financially possible. i was wondering what mods can be done to the engine for under $1000.
current mods to the car include: cat-back exhaust

Most people dont mod their 4afe's for power. You could go with some suspension mods such as springs, sway bars, strut brace which would make your car much more enjoyable.
for $1000 you could find a nice reco ge and gear box, maybe even a half cut for $12-1400.
Then save a bit more for installation and rewiring.
should be able to do it for $2k
Any other mods on the 4afe are almost a waste.
But...
- extractors?
- full exhaust?

Yep, $1000 bucks would get you most of the way through a 4age conversion if you were doing all the work yourself and you purchased parts with vigilance. Past extractors, I wouldn't be doing any more major mods on a 4afe, 'cos by the time you start noticing worthwhile gains, you've spent enough money to swap a 4age in and it'll still be slow. I'm not saying that they can't be modded to make a lot of power, but that sounds out of your price range.
Wrong section BTW
