SETup for 4AGZE / W55 Gbox into AE86 ?? Mon, 07 November 2005 11:22 Go to next message
Hi

I was wondering if anybody knows the exact combination for fitting a W55 supra G/box up to a 4AGZE and then into a AE86 with the standard JDM tailshaft.

What G/Box bell housing recommended?
What G/box aft mount required / recommended ?

What clutch would be recommended for this running a 100KW flywheel ?

Can the JDM tailshaft be used without any mods, if mods what mods?

Would the engine need to be moved forward slightly for g/box bellhousing clearance or would the standard mounting position be fine.

Also what radiator ( ie 3 core etc) is an easy fitup so as to allow for the intercooler piping to pass between the radiator support pannel and radiator without and cutting of the pannels?

Cheers

Dellow, niteparts and Bill Sherwood has them from time to time. The brand you get will determine which clutch fork/release bearing you use
Need a custom box mount.

Depends on the power. Generally a 3-5 puck brass button with high clamp pressure plate (ie 1600lbs+) You'll need a 212 disk with 22 x 28.5mm centre.

No. You might be able to re-use the back half but you need the yoke off the w55 to make a new tailshaft. Make sure you get it balanced properly.

Standard should be fine.

Measure it and then have a field day at the wreckers.

Eddie.

Consider yourself very lucky that Big T supplied all that info so clearly and concisely before anyone told you to search first. It has all been covered before.

As for radiators, a Gemini rad works perfectly and comes in 2 core and 3 core (from airconditioned models). No idea which model Gemini it came from though.
