i think the windscreen area is a common problem, mine needs doing also.

as for the stupid pinstripe, i attacked mine recently with a razor blade and metho, tried shellite as well (different solvents) but it is really slow going. a friend suggested using a hairdryer to heat the glue up, make it easier to scrape. give that a go, i will too, one day.

I could've had a look before I got rid of my sprinter, but the celica has two metal clips and hook holding it in place.

They are a bitch to try and get off without breaking it. If the sprinter is like the celica which I think it is, don't quote me on it, and correct me if I'm wrong.

The two metal clips are on the top and middle of the colum, you need to wiggle them a fair bit to get it loose and they should pop out, start from the top and then the middle, once you have the clips out and you haven't broken the plastic hook at the bottom the trim should lift up and out.

Good luck.

Hey,

As far as the strpe goes I used a heat gun set to low and razor blade (just to gently and carefully get enough to grib between teo fingers) and peeled away. Mind you the thing snaps so often you just reoeat the above every 5 centimetres.... Sad

You will then see how much your paint has faded....... Shocked

yea i think ill swipe my mates heat gun, you have to watch the sprinters around the windscreen mine only had 3 or 4 tiny dots of rust visible but when i pulled the trims off it was actualy quite bad! Shocked and its spent all its life in the country, id hate to see one that had lived near the ocean! damn salt air
