I love pimping gramps mobile sleepers.

My preference would be a 250kw + Volvo 240 but the cost would bo just a little over the top. Cry

So now I am thinking that an 89 to 93 Toyota Cressida (MX83) would be a good choice lowered, nice wheels and tinted.

They come with a 7MGE Auto

I think to start with I would convert it to manual then do a an engine swap using ether a 7MGTE of 1JZGTE.

What I would like to know is:

How hard it will be?

How much will it cost?

Is the 1JZGTE worth the extra cost and work over the 7MGTE?

Thanks

Well basically, from ease of conversion, they would be about the same right guys? A 7MGTE would physically bolt-in, but I dont think there was ever a version of the Cressida with it so..

Or, you could buy a manual JZX81 Chaser front cut (ie. Jap Spec Cressida) which comes with a 1JZGTE, and basically spend some time and swap everything directly over. There you go. One 1JZ CRessida. And the 1JZGTE is newer too...

Oh, and BTW. Manuals are expensive as only 5%? of them came with one. Mind you the R154 5-speed is bloody strong.

I have a cressida and want to put in a faster engine and manual. Main thing is I want ease in installation. SO I would be going for the 1jz-gte?

There is no listing for them in the Toyota EPC, so I'd say this is correct.
