Hi,

I thought the Carina was a 4 door, built on the A-series chasiss, and the 2-door verison was called the Celica.

Looks like a Carina to me, they were definitely available in 2 and 4 door. My TA63 Carina was a 4 door, my mates TA63 Carina was a 2 door hatch. Have only seen pics of the earlier ones though.

From those pics I'm tipping it to be a Carina sharing the same underpinnings as TA23-RA23-RA28 and etc, or maybe RA35 etc.

Both are mid-70's Carinas.

Carinas were available in two door sedan, two door hardtop and four door sedan.

I'd love a hardtop one myself! Smile

Stepho's excellenet site has all the details:

Good question.

But if they had sold them here, they might have been as common as Corollas. They they would not be as rare and interesting! Smile

Two door or four door?

I was considering at an RA45 Carina GT on Trademe.co.nz but it looked a bit ropey.

Holden bought in a Carina hardtop in the mid 1970's as a comparison car for NVH testing of their version of the Isuzu Gemini. Unless some idiot has crashed it, it might still be around. Razz

Yes, there was a rough one in Melbourne for sale on Toymods a couple of months ago. If you go back through the Cars For Sale, you'll find it.

I think it sold to BunkyT18 over in WA.
