Yeah i have seen that, but when you do that maths all the weight is on the front wheels and those things do carry ALOT of power. I dunno if i should admit this but i have given mine some stick on the highway, to have just the header part of a truck stay beside me, i reckon those things would run a decent 1/4 mile

the racing trucks at oran park used to smoke em up all the time
ummm... was it the Cat truck? after winning, would drift the whole circuit... bagging them up for every corner..
meh.. as stated many times before... drifting is sliding, not gripping.. if it was gripping, it would go faster and tip over.

Probably thinking of the shell truck driven by Rodney Crick. Didn't really drift they just did burnouts at close of play but the whole field did, some would sit on the brakes and roll round the circuit smoking it up, most did doeys on the main straight though.
Truck racing is uber cool shame there speed ahem limited to 160kmph (obvious safety reasons of course).

and no, it wasn't just burnout.... it was full power slide.. oh sorry, DORIFTO, aroudn the corners... not just stationary burnout...

No, you have to remember that with that MAN prime-mover, you are looking at about 6 ton, the cab would be mostly fiberglass, so the bulk of your weight is your running gear. The Engine/gearbox is still down between the front wheels so your center of gravity is still low. So just on approx figures you would have a minimum of maybe 4 or more ton at chassis height.

It is still impressive to see something that size and weight getting thrown around on a pretty small track with reasonable precision.
Hey Ray, you could top that though, couldn't you???
