hi there guys/gals, i was reading on the net recently about the differences between the gze and 4age ignition systems, pertaining to a 4age 20vavle rwd conversion.
i was wondering if the ignition system from the gze engine can be used on the 20valve engine, to eliminate the use of the distributor and thus not having to cut or push back the firewall.
can this setup work on a FWD 20valve as well?

remove the dizzy cap and rotator button. leave the internals of the dizzy there so the computer can indetify crank angle. use 4AGZE coil packs.
are you planning to use aftermarket standalone ECU like a microtech?
if not im pretty sure u need a DLI convertor if your using the standard ECU and theyre not easy to come by either.

so my best bet would be to use an aftermarket ecu rather than the standard ecu, and what is a DLI (distributor less ignition )
would an aftermarket ignition system (MSD) work with this set-up properly

you can get the DLI kit from meridian mototorsport, m-msport.com.au, $330, plus the water pipe relocation kits for $215. good quality stuff - im pretty happy with mine - although its still not hooked up!
