If you want to get rid of all that pesky bottom end torque, go for it.

Seriously, the sharp cutoff after the T-VIS plate causes far more restriction than the butterflys would.
If you were serious about it, you'd need to remove the butterflys and the shaft, mount the plate against the manifold, then grab a die grinder and smooth the exit (you'll probably have to go into the manifold to get it right). Once you've done this, you would need to weld up the holes in the plate.
This would flow better than the factory setup, but will still probably produce less power below about 6000 or so.
It would be an interesting experiment, but, it would take a lot of work....

We need that Toymods wiki thing.
Bill Sherwood said something about TVIS.
http://www.billzilla.org/4agmods.htm
If you have cams larger than 260 deg, he sais that you'll see a benifit from removing TVIS. That's for around a 150-160hp or 111-119kw engine.
Keep in mind that TVIS is nothing like a turbo. You can't just bolt it on and get more power. N/A engines are all about balance to get the highest revs and best torque across your power band. The 100kw 4A-GE has much smaller ports than the TVIS 'bigport' engines. The reason the bigport has the tvis is to create more velocity into the chamber, creating better torque low end. The 100kw 4A-GE does this automaticaly by having smaller port sizes. So no, putting TVIS on your 100kw 4A-GE will not see any advantages at all, and will cost you a lot and end up losing you power.

i never said its boring...but some idiot taking up space in tech & conv. and taking up other peoples time when a 30 second search would have saved everyone time and effort and would have answered all your questions....its frustrating for people who have answered the same shit over and over again....

Good on you for starting a new thread and I hope your questions (and others) have been answered. and what was that about the low hanging fruit? isn't slagging a thread cos it's been covered a bit like that?

if you search on toymods using the notoriously shit search engine...
you STILL get 14 pages of threads....
