First of all,
Look at the top right of the page, see the Search button...
Fairly sure a 1jz conversion has been covered to death on these boards...
A 1jz conversion is basically the same no matter what shell its going into.
Basically, get the engine, gearbox, loom, ecu, crossmember then jam it into the shell.
With the upgraded power, you want to upgrade brakes, suspension and rear diff.
Engines can be had for around 1-2k i think. There are a few for sale atm inb the 'For Sale' section.. funny that.
With that many k's on the clock, i'd seriusly replace all the bushing, bearings and whatnot.
But the 'Search' option is the best way to learn and a great start.

hard to say.
if ur after more power and can afford it, the 1jz path is a nice way to go.
there are still a few 7m's kicking about. parts are still readily availible, not so much local, but from the states. the 7m's are still popular with the ma61 crowd so demand wont die soon.
its really up to you and your bank account.
do some searching and reading on people who have done it befour. keep in mind, its never as easy as it sounds.
preperation and determination are your best friends.

"With the upgraded power, you want to upgrade brakes, suspension and rear diff."
Well that prolly isn't so important when it comes to mk3's as the brakes suspension and rear diff are really the same thru all versions. Well you do get a few differnces with diff types and suspension.
I am starting the 1jz conversion too. Plenty of info on these forums, i have it all saved to my hardrive. Biggest issue i can see if preserving my digital dash. (wiring seems to be the hardest part of this conversion)
