these folk recently appeared in the RACQ club magazine.
it shows how having a functioning race-track/driving facility can be a benefit to:
local schools (driver safety training)
local colleges (automotive engineering training)
local community (Warwick doesn't have major problem with street racing)
local sporting clubs (the track is on a large property with a range of fields for motorbike, bikeriding, horse riding, polo, etc)
local businesses (the club is privately run and attracts sponsorship)
motorsport community (the track is used by various motorsport clubs for 2/4 wheel competition up to and including state-level championships)
local government (the local council encourages use of all the facilities at the sporting precinct)
local law enforcement (takes street racing off the streets so they can focus on highway safety)
... etc
All the things that Brisbane/sunshine coast is crying out for.
Brisbane could benefit the same way (and on a larger scale) if th Lakeside track was used in a meaningful (and similar) way.
