For the 1jz-gte:
Just how hard is it to get work shop manuals, parts, hoses, oil filters, fuel filters, air filters and things like that. Plus any mechanic who'll touch em?

English workshop manuals are virtually non-existant, but this isn't a hard engine to work on. There are translated versions for sale on CD (PM Manny on these forums for info).

Oil filter - Same as 1996 Vienta V6 oil filter
Fuel filter (equivalent) - Ryco Z383
Air filter - Get a HKS or equivalent. Stock airbox is mighty restrictive.

I do all my own work, and I'm not a mechanic. Pretty reliable engines when treated properly.

Parts are easy come by, any toyota dealer has them on computer.

They are a dam fine engine, even when mistreated.
