Hia all,
My mates selling his 1990 celica,(tried to convince him otherwise but to no avail) He loves retro junk, 70's styling etc. Anyway wanting him to stay with toyota, Ive found a nice (looking) crown, think it needs some engine work etc, but looks nice. Its a 74 with 4M. Please no other car suggestions, I just needa know what people think of it? Reliable? Power is not an issue here, hes not too fussed about that. I really like the design of it, almost a stretched TA22 with a datsun back. Anyway any comments etc would be good.

They're a great car but I'm pretty biased. Last of the really great Crowns.
Service the 4M regularly. The 4 speed will be indestructible, but the auto can have problems (after all they are 30 years old). Parts are starting to get hard to find so if he buys this one, he should buy another for parts.

As GT said the 4M is bullet proof, i had one for 2 years and never had a problem with it, they are quite powerful for there age, ( i thought anyway, since all i drive is 3K's )
Pretty easy to work on, nice and comfortably to drive, the seats are to die for

Then your rims will be rendered obsolete. I will have to take them off your hands.
