 strange noises

ive recently put my corolla AE80 back on the road, and there are 2 distinct bad noises.
The first one is, a whistling noise that goes with the rev's of the car... My father believs it could be a vacume hose with a hole in it or not connected.
And the second noise is a tapping noise, i have been told it could either be that i have bad oil or maby the tappets (whatever they are)
any suggestions?

the 1st sounds like a vacuum leak or something of the nature. Go over all the hoses and make sure they're fastened properly. If you need to rev the car to hear it, just get someone to help you out, or theres a small lever to your left under the carby with a spring on it.
2nd, when is the tapping noise heard?

the tapping is when the car is running... basically all the time, it gets quiter when going faster
|
