Check your TPS is set up correctly in terms of its base position, i.e feeler guage between throttle stop. You need this so that you can set your timing in diagnostic mode. If your TPS is not showing the correct diagnostic the ecu will not allow you to set timing.
Should not set fuel pump to ign as it will allow the pump to keep running if you have an accident which stops the motor - use the closed circuit relay
Assuming you have a factory ECU, you need to be getting a correct zero position on the TPS so it shows the throttle shut before you can insert the diagnostic link to get it to go in to diagnostic mode. From there you can set idle speed and your ignition timing. If you send me a fax number I can fax you the pages from the manual
