Anyone used the Laptop Programable Microtech yet?
Just put my MTX8 in to get upgraded on tuesday. It's going to take a week to upload the latest program to it. Unless they are hella busy it seems a while. I burn Eeproms all the time at work, usually takes about all of 45 seconds!!!!!
I would have loved it for the longweekend.
If u have used it, any new features and hows the data logging?

Microtech is very good for its money but apparently for the extra cash you get some good features like boost/nos control which i have to pay to get extra controllers to do.
If your not going huge just get a microtech.
Cost is $200 for the upgrade including software disks, dongle and the new prgram on ur mtx.

The hand controller was really the only thing that was stopping people buying Microtech. People have a reaction to hand controllers, they seem to think that if it has one, it must be a toy. I know, I had that reaction. I ended up buying a Hawk, really cheap, great resolution, closed loop, stepper control blah, blah, blah. It was $1543 all up, loom, softwarem, connecters. Good software, even if it does take a while to work out. The thing is, I race with a guy who runs MTX8 on his Z and it behaves as well if not better than my car. This comes down to tuning, but it does show that just because it has a hand controller it doesn't have the best resolution. He gets over 300 hp out of a 2.9, so you can draw your own conclusions about how good MTX8 is. Very well priced too. I would be very interested to hear how the laptop programming goes, good luck with it.
