Turbocharging Charade Tue, 06 December 2005 04:36 Go to next message
Hey,

I was wondering if anyone can help me. I am after turbocharging my 1989 Charade. It has the 1L carby engine in it. I am curious can I just source the manifold and turbo of the 1L turbo engine and just turn down the boost?

Cheers

turbocharging a n/a car and even worse a carby n/a car has alot of things involved. Fuel systems ignition etc etc. Im sure it can be done with the carby motor but wouldnt it be easier/cheaper in the end to fit the 1lt turbo from the charade gti i dont know how hard it is to source half cuts for them but thats where i would start.

and seriously, what kind of help did you expect from a toyota forum?

maybe ask on a charade forum if the manifolds line up, so you know if it's even possible.

but yes, the GTi engine conversion would be better
