rwd 4age throttle cable part No. Tue, 06 December 2005 13:10 Go to next message
the part number for a brand new throttle cable for a rwd 4age is:

78180-12660

approx $130

be aware that this is the auto throttle cable, you just have to remove the auto bracket thing at the end...
also i cant ganrantee the price or if with work with anything other than an ae86 (but i dont see why not...)

it took me and the toyota guy about 20 mins to find what it was we needed to know...

i find it easier (and much cheaper) to goto a motorbike shop and buy some inner cable by the meter and just replace the inner cable with some new ends. Smile

Or even a KE30, mine uses one of them. It's way too long but it does the job and certainly doesn't cost $130!

i am running an AE82 cable, its a fair bit too long but the pedal feels que "notchy" i have done a few things to correct this, like mounting it in different spots (cut and shut manidold) and shortening the cable casing to suit it better, but the notchy feel is still there.

there is an automotive cable place near my house, i will see if they can shorten it, or just do it myself, need to work out how to re-attatch the lead "puller" on the end of the cable.
