I made my door pods with 16mm mdf and layered it so that it overlapped. This gave me a fairly large internal space and make them rock solid. Then i just used fibre fill to put the shape on the outside.
I will see if i got some pix of their construction and post them with the others.

vinyl spray, lots of restoration, lots of fibrglass fixes, flckstone paint.... and shedloads of thinners..... and it still hasnt left that bed!
Well, its moving along now... redone more of the car. Sometime in the near future i will be building some fibreglass doors to house some VERY large speakers, so ill put them up one day (few months )
ill put up a pic of where the car is at right now soon.

I did my TA23 in black velour for the doors, back doors, C pillars, center console - custom, made from wood and no center console past the gearstick, looked UBER tough. Especially as I had one of those lazer pointers from a screw in the dash pointing onto my gold skull gearknob.
Also a lot of black vinal for the A pillars and roof. Black furry stuff from target for seats, and a sports steering wheel. And new black carpet front and back.
... And a few stains. I miss that car.

here is mine, they are the guages I've drawn, just waiting to print them out.
The door skins are black velour with thick blue fur highlights, the rest of the car was black velour, I just pulled all the panels out and covered them, all the side panels and the pillars and roof, the carpet was black. Seats are out of a ra60.

Hey Luke - Are they blue LED's in your dash? They look cool, kind'a like a scene from a B grade alien movie. I like it.
Tim - Love the fun gauge, gotta get me one of them. Never thought of measuring fun in PSI before though. And the red line sounds about right, but you need a "bang" at 9k.

yeah there are blue leds, actually high intensity leds, I did it for the fact I could hardly see my dials at night when street lights were around. The dials are made out of a white perspex and then using an etching machine a template was made up so that the numbers were spray painted on. the white perspex works well cos it still lets a little light thru. I'll be making a few more of these up and sell them off to a few celica people.

luke... i am working on the dimming circuit for the LED's right now.....
...that and considering i did such a LOVELY price on those 40 odd LED's for you.. how's about some nice free-to-dirt-cheap perspex dials mate!!!
If anyone wants high brightness LED's like what Bugman has - they are available in blue, green, red, yellow, white and soon i think there is pink and orange. PM me if you seriously want some. And if you use them don't forget the dropping resistors!!!

I'm definatly interested in one of them big bulky center consoles.. I have a standard one, no wood grain contact on it though.
gold28, you could either space i out about 3-5mm or just do as I did and only screw half the screws in this way it has a little play on 2nd 4th and R. it only just clips the plastic.
so whitzl or gold 28.. you guys getting rid of your big bulky center consoles?

Full black velour.... with shaped checker plate door in serts and mats (super rice!)
prelude seats
custom console
body colour dash console (took lots of spray filler and sanding to get smooth) with guages rearanged and boost guage.
front vents removed to fit head deck.
Back seat removed and replaced with custom sub box with 2 x 15 in subs.....
probly more but i haven't seeen a stock int for ages to compare to
how do you get net space to host pics????
Cheers
Stew
PS i would be interested in some blue leds..... maybe white guages

To get webspace you need to setup a site at geocities or something. I do have some spare webspace, so if you email me the pictures I'll optimise them(still at a reasonable size, but a small file size) and tell you the link. But they cant stay up for ever as I think the site I'm with closes down at the end of the year....
