They're pretty much the same 'cept the V8 has nock sensors and a different ignition module. Also the computer on the v8 controlls the gearbox too.

I got one out of a JE camira for $150 (pulled it out, and ALL sensors myself) we've wired in 2 of the v8 ignition modules, and no nock sensors yet.

Everything can be added later. Your better off using the Camira one as its smaller and doesn't have as much in it. It will also have a good ignition module for the 22R.

It really depends on who is tuning it?? Seriously this guy is a wizz with delco!

Why the V8 ignition module? I gathered the STD JE camira ignition module was sufficient enough. I was thinking of using the std ignition module and use a pair of V8 coils...

The camira ones are fine. Has something to do with the degrees before firing or something. I'm getting a box made up to convert a lot of signals into what the delco needs, really complicated and Dick told me to get two v8 modules, and he knows his stuff bloody well.

I'm using two as the 1uz has 2 coils and 2 distributers (kinda) so I needed two ignition modules.

VN V6, V8, and JE camira ECU are all the same. The V6 and HSV V8 have a knock module on the memcal. The knock module is next to useless for any other engine than it was designed for. You use the V8 module when you need to runing 2 coil ie duel channel module. The standard camira one is single chanel. Hope this clarifies some myths.
