I cant locate the coil for a 4afc engine. TACHO installation Tue, 21 January 2003 08:01 Go to next message
where is the coil located.......... i found the dizzy...which only has the 4 leads...there is not such middle lead....

how can i wire up the tacho.....its a green wire....


i did find a blue wire with a cap hanging of the dizzy, but i dunno if that is it........ i treids to hook it up..but it doesnt work.........

on these engines the coil is the round cylinder ( probably black) its about 1.5 inches round and about 4 inches long

easiest way to find it is to follow the lead from ya dizzy

because originally this car didn;t have a tacho........


i;m putting 1 in myself....... cant locate the coil......just the black thing with 4 lead connected to spark plugs

ummm i might be wrong here but isn't the coil actually built inside the dizzy thats why there is no 5 leads coming out the distributor cap only 4, how to get to the coil inside the dizzy well i have no F-ing idea Very Happy

are you sure its a 4afc?

i had one! and i know they are like i said!

on ya dizzy ya have 5 leads 4 go to the spark plugs were does the other go?

i am sure...lol..i know my engines....just not to technical...

and yes there are only 4 leads...not 5............i repeat there is no middle lead Smiley =

If the coil is built in to the dizzy then there will also be a postive and negative wire connecting to it somewhere. I believe the postive wire is the one u need for the tacho.

ok every1........the problem in solve now........


i got a car technition to help me..out........we had to thread a wire..inside the dizzy so we can get signal wire out Wink

$30 job.......
