SOLD!!! 1988 Toyota Corolla SX 4 Quick Sale Wed, 22 January 2003 11:06 Go to next message
I am very regretfully selling my beloved corolla due to my current occupation. It is no longer viable for me to keep my corolla when what i really need is a ute to carry all my tools/equipment,let's face it corollas weren't meant to be workhorses.I need to get rid of my car quickly so i can find a ute and benefit from it's spacious rewards.

So here goes

1988 toyota corolla Twin Cam
204xxxkms and has rego till end of April
I have converted the engine upto the later model AE92,which means it's a 100kw engine, don't let anyone bullshit ya,there never was an ae82 model corolla bought out with a 100kw engine, they all are either 86/88kw and have t-vis for better low down responsiveness.
The gearbox is 5spd manual but out of a 20valve levin,it gives closer ratios for better acceleration,i reckon this change alone made a huge difference to the way the car drives,it's great.I did this last year around august along with a new clutch.
The rims are 17inch ACB (Zepter Ligare Spoke Copies) Tyres are still good, the car is lowered 1 1/2 inches at the front and 2inches at the rear, this is so i can get in and out of my driveway.I still have the original springs for the rear in the garage
A full bodykit, that i myself had to custom modify to suit this shape,it's actually a full jetspeed kit for the ae92 corolla's.In the pics the kit is cracked but it is fully repaired and the exhaust tips are now twin dumpers. The bonnet has a wrx scoop and two deep cut air vents.I also have the original front and rear bumpers as well.
Now inside
I've retrimmed the doors in some red vinyl,it's not spectacular(very hard to keep clean) but it's better than the original trim. The seats are still in the original red/stiched cloth trim.I've got a wood grain steering wheel and the usual gear knob/pedals/handbrake extras.I've got three autometer gauges with chrome cups, one is the air/fuel ratio (really cool)another is volts and the last is Vaccum.
My stereo is staying with the car cauz i want to get top dollar when my car is sold.
This consits of a kenwood mask kdc-7016,6 disc stacker under the passengers seat,a set of custom door pods with a set of oz audio splits(very very expensive) 4inch jaycar responses in the factory front slots, kenwood hq 7x10's in a custom parcel tray. Now the boot,i removed my full custom set-up and sold that seperately, but being a car audio installer myself i decided to make something up to replace it.so i've got 2 12inch kicker comps in a custom box.I no longer have my good amps they were sold, but i've got a kenwood 4 chanel 748 driving the front splits and the 7x10's and ive got power acoustic 2x200 driving the subs, these are concealed under a false floor that i made.

So that's pretty much everything bro.Now i'm not going to waste your time here,so here are the flaws that's it's got, heck all cars aren't perfect.I drive mine everyday.

It's got one small dent on the rear left door near the centre pillar this was done when a piece of timber fell off the roof of the garage,it's barely noticeable.
The rear hatch has 2 rust spots coming through basically on each corner where the rubber seal of the rear windscreen finishes. That's it

PRICE IS NOW $6500

Cheers Aj

Why is it when you really need to sell your car there is no one out there who wants to buy it? Since no one has responded, how about people just tell me what they think it is worth.I've removed the price,so any offers???

I'm looking for between 7-8 and as i said i'm not going to give it away.I think i was too impatient before,i'm just going to have to stick firm with my car for awhile unitl somebody comes along who wishes to buy it.I've put far too much money in this car for someone to come along and sweep up a bargain cauz i was in too much of a rush to get rid of it

If it's an SX Corolla, it's an AE92 which I believe first came out around June '89. If it's an 88 model it would be an AE82, possibly a Twincam but not an SX. So what exactly is it that you have for sale????
