you will find you can turbo the 5me(5mge) engine thats in the cresseda. they have a high or is it low(???) compression ratio which makes the engine easy to turbo... just don't push it too hard.
but me having a supra and just getting a replacement 5me out of a cresseda i'm sure you could fit a 7mgte with minimal fuss, 1jz and 2jz with not many more probs.
either way u go it's going to cost u... u might like to think about putting a supercharger on the engine, would be the easiest way to go.

thats true but i wouldnt bother turboing a 5me....youll have overheating problems, and you will blow the motor relatively easy. Bottom end wasnt built for a turbo so some serious rebuilding would be needed. supercharger...no heat probs but the bottom end still aint gonna be strong enough. Turboing/ supercharging it will probably only give u 200-230hp max. 7mge cressida motor puts out that...something to think about. Ive got an ma61 supra im putting a 302 windsor motor in...gone against the toyota product...i just couldnt be bothered with turbos and computers etc anymore. you could also go this way. Some toyota engine swaps for the cressida are 1ggte, 1jzgte, 2jzgte, 1uzfe, 7mge/gte, 1ggze, and a few i cant think of..end of the day any replacement engine is gonna cost you an arm and a leg. My best advice is make sure u really love and wanna keep the car for a LONG time...you wont get your money back. Supras are gonna be collectors items in the future...dont know about cressidas tho...youll never get your money back if you ever wanna sell it.

What year was the Windsor from? Don't they have to be newer than the car?

dont think being newer than the car is a big problem....i havent been told the year of its birth yet. I am getting the heads this week complete for an unleaded swap...and new valve springs, whole new head setup. Should then get the block in a couple more weeks...
yes we all agree do not turbo/super the 5me....big mistake lol...probably after u solve the problems u have itd be cheaper for a 1j/ 7m transplant. btw you gotta then find a computer and ecu to operate with the 5m properly...

Nothing wrong with turboing a 5ME, just 2 probs:
- finding an MTEU exhaust manifold, and
- finding an MTEU dizzy.
The MTEU manifolds have a habit of cracking, but can repaired, but the most important thing is the MTEU dizzy. It retards the timing by up to 15 degrees when it sees positive pressure. It would appear that the BHG problem is most likely related to running the std dizzy, and all the associated detonation. Sean Gannon had a 500 hp 5MTE which also blew head gaskets, but it was running 30 psi boost.
You could turbo a 5/6MGE. Aaron Garney outlines it beautifully here.
Personally I wouldn't do either unless you have the bits lying around - you'd just be polishing a turd. If you have money and time, then do the 7MGTE or 1JZGTE. Either one will yield spectacular results.
