I was thinking we should have some type of expiry in the for sale section, where the post is atomatically deleted to keep recources more free and always have fresh / current info also maybe a cache section that we can search that has compression apllied after it hasn't been read in like a few months ect

Nice ideas dude, but I don't think they're very easy to implement. I'll have a look to see if we can set an automatic expiry time on the for sale forums.
Thanks for the feedback! It's greatly appreciated!

Maybe not do an auto expiry cause there are a lot of things that still are for sale after quite some time...
I think that if everything off a post sells or gets taken to the tip, then the thread starter - the person selling the items - should change the thread topic to "sold"... Then if a board member is cruising the forums and comes across it, then should delete it...

There isn't really any point doing this because a few posts doesn't take up much space if any on the server. The only thing that would take up space is the pictures that are hosted on the server for the "For Sale" section.

Whaddya mean "A few posts"?!?!?!
How many posts do you think there are in the For sale section, the Cars for sale and the wanted section that are no longer needed due to items being sold and stuff no longer wanted???
There would be shitloads... And out of the posts that I have seen, there are heaps with pictures included in the posts... I'm sure that there would be a huge difference in size if all these threads were deleted...
I noticed that there was a thread titled "SOLD" in the for sale section today... I figure that thread can now be deleted as can many others...
We just have to ensure that when all items are sold, the thread title be changed to "SOLD" so that it can be deleted...

You do know that in a forum database, 100 posts doesnt even equate to 5kbs most of the time? Of course this is not including pictures!

The only reason why it would decrease search speed is because it will give you more results!
