I am putting a 4AGTE RWD engine together from 4agze FWD engine. I am planning to use the 4AGZE head (I think engine is Mk 2 or 3)so it seems the head is small port. From what i understand the the only bolt on manifold is the the RWD 4age 86kW. Is this true and is there any alternative? What principals are to be used on making an inlet manifold?
Depends if you've got a small or big port head. The RWD manifold will only work with a big port head - sure it'll bolt onto a small port head, but won't work too well
Your alternative is to either make something from scratch (which is what I'd do because I love that kinda thing!), or get a small port 4AGE manifold 'turned round'. I've got one of these lying round that I had done for my engine before it broke (the engine), and I ended up with a big port head.
