Here's a tricky question for yas' all... Sun, 26 January 2003 00:58 Go to next message
Ok here it is,

I want to dump my corona but the only king springs i can buy are 35mm lower than standar, in otherwords, not worth bothering with. I don't want cut springs in it for many reasons including insurance. What i was wonder however was...

I've heard that TA22 struts are almost identical to the xt130 struts apart from a few minor things. One of these things was that the spring seat is higher in the xt strut than the TA strut. Can anyone verify this?

Now for the question. With the above knowledge, i was wondering if it would therefore be possible to but lowered king springs to suit the TA22 celica, but then put them in the Corona xt130 struts. Is this a viable proposition?!?!? would it be any better do you think?

Any help will be greatly appreaciated.

André

to my logic, that would make the body ride HIGHER not lower

could you swap the xt strut for the TA one? keeping in mind brakes for the heavier car etc?

why not just get the springs re wound(think thats what they call it) ands they can do that to your desired height, ring a spring company and talk to them.

Fulcrum/superpro in Queensland, do a adjustable height conversion for the xt130 struts.
Its a weld-on threaded, lower spring seat and has about 4in of adjustment.
I think it uses there 65mm ID springs,I have a set sitting here for when iam bothered to fit them! Very Happy

Thanks guys, i have heard about Fulcrum, i'll give them a call. Yeah sorry i forgot to mention i had some super-super low TA22 springs already at hand, i thought putting them in the corona would give it a nice low but not tooo low stance. How much roughly is it to get coils wound? Any ideas?

Thanks.

get the spings re-set is the word, and dont use the king springs, they are not low enough, and kings do not make superlows for the ta22 setup.
