WA Dept. of Transport Mods Application - can anyone help? Tue, 28 January 2003 07:30 Go to next message

G'Day all,

I plan on dumping either a 1JZGTE or 1UZFE into my MA-61 and switch the autobox for a W58. And getting it approved on the standard form put out by Transpoty.

Any WA folks here with recent experience in getting engine mods & conversions approved?

Any assistance much welcomed,

TIA,

Justin

Hiya Justin...

My turn to bug you...hehehe... I think you might have to bite the bullet and submit a form to see if they approve....

Cheers!

Yeh, I'll write-up the application (which is on the web, somewhere). My question is: what do they want to hear? What sort of stuff are people getting knocked back on? Do I just give them the engine model no. (eg 1JZGTE) and say 'swap' or go into detail about hpw I'll make this turbo monster really really safe? Do I tell them that it'll be worked on by some dodgy backyard mechanic (heh-heh-heh)?
