how do most people get around the prob of the exaust on a rwd 4age in a sprinter? do you change the gearbox to the jap spec one? or do you just put a heat sheild around the clutch line?

thanks guys

If you can get ahold of a 4AG bellhousing, by all means use it, otherwise just don't put the exhaust any closer than needed to the clutch cylinder and put a heat shield between it and you shouldn't have any worries - I ran mine for a while with no heat shield and a frequently red hot turbo dump pipe inches away, and the only clutch trouble I had was crap pressure plates... oh, and the T50 ended up snapping anyway Evil or Very Mad

i had my clutch line made up of braided line which had a much better heat protection and was pressure tested to 1300psi of so. The guy who made it gave it alot more clearance over the exhaust too with a fitting that was bent facing upwards towards the floorpan. Job was really neat and set me back $100. It was a requirement for my roadworthy.
