Long ago when I had my RX-3, John from Reliance Automotive was able to rig something up. They might be worth having a chat to.
Can you keep us updated on how you go? If the price is right, I wouldn't mind doing the same to my Celica. The 3S-FE needs every little bit of HP it can get.

I took the car round to the guy today. He charges $30 an hour and reckons its an 8 hour job. He'll completely close off the corner of the car with the filter (and you can keep your lovely sounding pod!!) with aluminium and some heat resistant stuff i dont remember the name of and leave it open to teh wheel arch and front grille. This guy does pro intakes on many GT4s and lancer evos. He knows his stuff.
