Don't see why it couldn't be rebuilt. But I am not sure why it runs on 3 cylinders. Was like it when I got it. Was told by previous owner it's "something in the bottom end."

If that engine is running on 3 cylenders and it's not the spark plug or dodgy leads. that usually means something bad has happened, bent valve stems, worn valve seats. Just something for you to look out for.
I've been there and done that before

Yeah. I think it's something bad, but can't be bothered putting it back in a car to find out
It "could" be just the plugs, but not sure.

it might have a bent valve however that can be rebuilt. the only reason s engines cant be is if a rod has come out the side of the block or simular or if its been bored out to far.

Nah. Guards are off 75 model.
And no rod's poking out the side. Think it's stock, so not bored out either.

Boot lid's OK. Has been sanded down though, so has a little bit of surface rust forming..

Yeah. I have some you could take. They are in OK condition. Need to be cleaned up. Couple of little dents here and there. Let me know if you want to come take a look.
