people o ring the heads to try and stop the bhg problem. Test it for cracks and also look for any signs of how it could be warped. Block doesnt need to be o ringed as far as i know. not 100% sure tho.

7M's are definitely not o-ringed from the factory. If yours has an o-ringed head, it's been modified by someone at some point.

You lucky bastard, if my 7mgte head was oringed i'd run more than 14psi(currently 420hp) and throw 20psi into it and crack the 500hp mark
Got any pics of it??

Stock heads are not O-ringed. What kind of gasket was it using, and how tight were headbolts?

they were using a copper head gasket about 1mm , orginal bolts and i dont know how tight, but they were torqued over spec , so id say about 70Nm
they were all tight when i took them off

big dramas! head apears to b leaking as it was before...
talking to eng reco mob who said it is a very bad idea to oring a alloy head , the head is to soft and the orings push up into the head, and when torquing them down they will tend to sqew the head. so it looks like im up foor a new head!
anyone have one worth seling?
( im still trying to get my photos!)
